How Can Anyone Have A Feng Shui Career?

The very first misconception is that to  have a career in Feng Shui, you’d need that blood lineage of father or uncle who taught me. That is simply not true.

I always advocate great responsibilty and care on the part of the Feng Shui Consultant, from whomever he or she was descended from or studied with. Experience is a must. That simply means an apprenticeship of sorts.

Some people want to make a career of using feng shui, but are unsure of how they can do so. They do not necessarily want to be a feng shui consultant. That is again so true. There are merging industries that use Feng Shui with their businesses.

Using feng shui as a career may centre upon using the principles of feng shui gardens, feng shui in construction, or applying it in your professional life to enhance your career and offering your clients that extra dimension of effectiveness.
 

Can it be lucrative?

A common question and thankfully, at this time there appears to be decisive answers. Feng shui has been around long enough to have been accepted into more established businesses, giving it some credibility with consumers and businesses alike.
1) As a Feng Shui consultant, you are being a specialist only in this discipline. This will be how you market yourself. You may sell your services to home owners, businesses and others who may want to learn from you or integrate their business with yours (see below).

2) Integration of other businesses with Feng Shui is often the more effective answer to using feng shui as a career. For example, an architect, a building engineer, an interior designer (becoming a favourite), garden construction, etc. The advantage is suddenly you can add that extra dimension of service that can attract more moneyed clients and get a better deal or attract even more clients. Of course, the knowledge you bring to the table in combination with the other company can become a real win, win situation. However, you must have a strong working knowledge of the field you intend to merge with, otherwise, it will become a clash of ideas and priorities.

3) If you already own a construction, real estate or interior design business, etc., using Feng Shui can open up another niche of buyers ready to pay a premium for such a perceived value added service.
